Dayume is far from thrilled about spending the summer with her little brother Minkaye at their grandfather Taga’s house—a man obsessed with becoming a shaman and making contact with the spirits of nature. But when, one night, both grandfather and grandson vanish into the forest, Dayume is forced to question everything she thought she knew and open herself to the possibility
that there may indeed be something beyond what the eyes can see. Her companion on this unexpected journey will be the unpredictable Ego, a being from the spirit world… who dreams of becoming human.
